I will make these as simple as possible at first. Please
note, that these rules of the forum are subject to change
accordingly, and without prior notice.
1. No Spam
:: This includes meaningless posts, just to get a post count
up. Please read here as well, for those
who'd like to change that. However, spam is not permitted
nonetheless.
2. No offensive commentary or language
:: If reported, post will be removed, and a warning will be given
(I mean, there is a limit above and beyond our usual
banter, and old TPO ways...remember? ;))
Some of us use profanity, we use sexual innuendos, or joke
around and such. But there are limits and lines we cannot cross.
3. No pornographic images
:: Please refer to #2
(Like I said previously, there are limits. And too far is too
far).
4. Be respectful to all board members, and staff.
:: If you have a question, or problem, please go to
the appropriate board to post. If the subject/problem
refers to another member violating the rules, insulting
or causing problems, please PM one of the Staff and
we will take care of it. please include the nature of
the incident, and the members UN.
However, if a member feels they've been wronged, disrespected,
or other of this nature by a staff member, bring it to MY
attention personally. I will then deal with that staff member
one-on-one.
::There may only be one warning given for any member out of
line. I will discuss this in a Staff meeting to finalize it.
:: If a member does get a warning, and continues to blatantly
disregard the warning(s), you will be banned for a certain
amount of time, given to you at the time. If after the ban is
lifted, and you show no recourse, your next ban will either be
extended longer than the first, or banned indefinitely. Staff
will have a meeting to rectify the issue, and go from there.
* Technical Support
* Suggestions
5. Use smilies with care.
:: Google "Bandwidth" if you do not know why
6. Please keep with the thread subject you are in, unless
it is in the general board, and games. That area is understandable.
7. If any of these rules are violated, and appear not to be sufficient,
the old ones will be added, and the offenders will be warned before action is taken.
8. If you want to know what the action is, ask staff. Or you can just disregard the terms, and find out.
9. Otherwise have fun, no bashing, hate mongering, destruction etc.
10. Please do not ask us to be an Admin/Mod.
These are positions earned, and not just handed out. If you
have put in some time in helping rebuild DS, and shown
you are a beneficial part o this community, Staff may discuss
the promotion over tea and crumpets. If a member of Staff
sees and feels a member may be beneficial of such a promotion,
we will bring it to another's attention, and observe a little
further. Nonetheless, I get the final say.
And comments/questions about the rules, post them in this thread. Thank you.
Let's see how this goes at first.
-INNACTIVE ACCOUNTS-
When you join, please make sure to always take a moment
to read the Rules.
For those who join, and have remained innactive for at least
30 days, your account will be evaluated. If innactive for 2 months,
your account may be deleted. As Admin purchase bandwidth,
and innactive accounts take up bandwidth.
-POSTING SUGGESTIONS & EXPLANATIONS-
Now some of you may wonder, "Why quote?" Well the answer is
simple and common sense really. You see, when replying (or
quick replyling), some may either not get who you're referring
to at first. This helps alleviate any confusion.
Also, quoting the person you are responding to, also saves your
butt, and/or theirs. If the one you reply to in a thread changes/
modifies their post(s), you will still have the reply you made to
their post, including what you had quoted.
Just because they modify their post, does not modify the part
you had quoted. So, no matter what they try to cover up,
whatever the case may be, their original message in quote,
still remains.
NOTE: If ANYONE modifies any part of their post, or even the
quoted response, I SHALL KNOW! Database keeps a recorded
log of all activity within the forums.
The reason for keeping to the subject (preferrably in the
Disturbed area), is not only to remain more organized, but also
to keep relevance to the topic, as to keep posting spam, or
random non-relevant chatter from taking up all kinds of
bandwidth, and cluttering whatever thread topic in question.
Thanks,
JP
